As you know, Handsworth is very excited to have moved into our new school. The Theatre, Music & Dance departments are equally excited to now have a purpose-built Performing Arts Space where students can learn, practice, and perform. A big thank you to those who have supported our Take Your Seat fundraising campaign, where donations of $500, $1,000 and $2,000+ will be recognized with a commemorative plaque on one of the new 262 seats within this space. With the generous support of our community, we are grateful to have sold over 45% of these seats! The funds raised to date have ensured that some of the critical equipment including seats and lighting equipment can be purchased and installed in this school year.
However, there are still a few major purchases that need to to be funded, including all of the curtains for the stage. Our goal is to secure the funds needed to proceed with these purchases by June 2022. In order to meet our goal, we are now reaching out to North Shore companies and businesses for support with the It Takes a Village corporate campaign.
As part of the Performing Arts Space, there will be a special section of 15 seats near the front. Companies or businesses can purchase one of these 15 seats with a donation of $5,000 or more. Each business will be recognized with a corporate plaque on a seat and receive a tax receipt for 100% of the donation. If you know of a company or business who would like to be a part of the It Takes a Village campaign, please send an email to hssperformingarts@gmail.com for more information. Instructions for how to make a corporate donation are below. Any businesses who have already donated and would like to add to their existing donation in order to be a part of this section can do so by emailing hssperformingarts@gmail.com.
Our goal is to sell all 15 It Takes a Village corporate seats by June 2022.
